As the Lead UX Designer, I developed comprehensive wireframes and prototypes to visualize and test the user interface for our e-commerce gaming application. By mapping the user journey, I ensured an engaging and seamless experience across web, mobile, and kiosk platforms. Additionally, I designed the UI, iterated on multiple design prototypes for stakeholder review, and implemented front-end code to deliver a visually appealing and highly functional gaming experience. As a result, user engagement increased by 25% within the first three months of launch.

Project Background

Sportech embarked on a mission to revolutionize horse race betting through innovative mobile and web applications. Our primary goal was to develop a seamless, intuitive platform that enabled users to place bets effortlessly online via the web app or mobile devices. We focused on harmonizing sophisticated aesthetics with user-friendly functionality to cater to our discerning clientele.

the problem

Sportech wanted to create a mobile experience that allowed users to conveniently place bets on various race tracks around the U.S.

I joined the company as the Lead UX Designer to help design better experiences across platforms.

I led the design team through sprints after problems to solve were identified and solutions that would have a positive impact of key business metrics.

UX Process and Deliverables

Below are some steps in the process to create the final product.

  1. PERSONA - By developing a user persona grounded in demographic data, we were able to target and prioritize the specific user group most likely to engage with our platform.

  2. JOURNEY MAP - I collaborated with key stakeholders to create a detailed journey map outlining the user's experience. We incorporated insights from customer surveys and brief phone interviews to understand their goals, frustrations, and pain points with our current web platform.

  3. WIREFRAMES - Through extensive usability testing with our UX research team, we identified several pain points and opportunities for improvement. As the lead UX designer, I developed wireframes, sketches, and low-fidelity prototypes to address these, enabling stakeholders to interact with and evaluate the new design concepts.

  4. WIREFRAMES - I created mobile wireframes informed by user feedback and insights, allowing us to rapidly prototype the user experience and detect potential issues early in the development process.

The solution / outcome

The new mobile designs and updated website experience increased user sign-ups and online and mobile betting registrations by 48% within the first six months of launching.

As the lead UX designer, I created numerous prototypes throughout the design and development process so developers could see how the apps would flow and function as they built out the apps.

Along with the Sportech design and development team, I helped create, maintain, and add new features to the Sportech mobile apps and websites.
